3 Pro Tips for Perfect Pencil Stamping
To get that "perfect gold" look, you need to balance three things: Heat, Pressure, and Precision.
1. Find the "Sweet Spot" Temperature
Wooden pencils usually have a painted coating. If it's too hot, the foil bleeds; if it's too cold, it won't stick. For our hot stamping machine, we recommend starting between 110°C and 130°C. Always do a test strip first!
2. Use a Dedicated Pencil Jig
Since pencils are round or hexagonal, they tend to roll under pressure. That’s why a Pencil Jig (Fixture) is a must-have. It keeps the pencil perfectly centered so your logo hits the mark every single time.
3. The Quality of the Die Matters
For small items like pencils, your artwork needs to be sharp. We use high-precision custom brass dies because they handle fine lines much better than cheaper alternatives. They are durable and heat up incredibly evenly.
Troubleshooting Common Issues

Blurry edges? Your temperature is likely too high or you're pressing too hard.

Foil not sticking? Try increasing the temperature by 5 degrees or holding the handle down for an extra second.
